Torn Away Poem by Jessica Goudreault

Torn Away

Rating: 5.0

I didn't think it would hurt so much
And be so bad,
Feeling over you
I thought I'd be okay,
Yet I still cried
When you told me the news,
As if a part of me died
To never be replaced,
Knowing I will never again
See your face.

This time it's for real,
You truly walked away,
The unbearable thought
Haunting me throughout the day,
Not even a chance to say goodbye,
I wish you would've just lied
Told me it'd all be okay
And turn out alright.

That chance is now gone
The truth has escaped,
This is all that I've got
It can't just be ripped away,
Maybe you will come back some day,
For now, I will watch and wait
Hoping things will go back
To the way they were,
Not falling apart and being insecure
But the perfect future.
