Torn Heart Poem by Albert J. Deroose

Torn Heart

you are my one and only love
you mean more to me than anything
let down over and over again
knowing that I could never win
the smiles once had have after ceased
because of the pain that has
sometimes increased
I place my hand on my aching heart
to keep it inside as it tears apart
and just as raindrops tell of my
fears. the clouds are my eyes and
the rain my tears
as dew drop fade, the rose it dies
for tears in the heart never reached
the eyes oh! if I could mend that
torn heart of mine
