Torn Scorn Poem by Clare McWilliams

Torn Scorn

With one poem I have torn scorn from your heart

Released you from a spell that was not real

Twisted words give birth to hatred in your soul

Goal exacted perfectly, misunderstood in doubt.

Solidarity of the feminine one cause

For your wife called to sneak a peek

That guilt I cannot live with is therefore gone

And I've done my duty for a greater cause.

Love is selfless acts misunderstood

Mine for good of missed, trapped lover.

Pain, vanity and loss the sacrifices suffered

For yours, his, and five unknown souls considered.

Responsibility lies thick upon my mind

Like butter used to fry away my hunger

That you fell for my deception in mere words

Makes your hatred feed my misery intent.
