Torn Together Poem by Amy May

Torn Together

The words I need I cannot find,
The words I find I do not need;
Emotion flows, but all upstream,
The only reasons here are mine.

The things I feel I do not like
The things I like I do not feel;
Confusion hums, disgust unclean,
And hormones hunt at dizzy heights.

The thoughts I hide I cannot hear
The thoughts I hear I cannot hide;
Feelings bold, yet flinch from light,
The truth in you and me I fear...
