Traces Poem by Chris Harris

Traces

Behind the frozen wastes
The bitter taste so hollow
Hope for a secret place
No unseen face or shadow

Through the gate don't be late
I'll lead and you can follow
Hesitate and you wait
To bleed again tomorrow

Eighth sense your second sight
Read left for right and gleaming
The mirror tells the tale
Follow the trail we're leaving

Through the gate don't be late
I'll lead and you can follow
Hesitate and you wait
To bleed again tomorrow

Alice a face to words
Story absurd or dealing
Are we with jokered pack
Assembled stack wind screaming

Through the gate don't be late
I'll lead and you can follow
Hesitate and you wait
To bleed again tomorrow

Peering strained failing eyes
Towards the skies appealing
Fearing strange failing ties
Aboard the lies are sailing

Through the gate don't be late
I'll lead and you can follow
Hesitate and you can wait
To bleed again tomorrow
