At the half-lit trailer park the plump tin tub out back
is filled with fresh water, cool and glistening,
inviting as moonlight itself folded on the metal roofs.
The 18-wheel trucker wades naked, bold as a Sioux chief,
unafraid of scattered neighbors spying from lawn chairs;
he is proud and dreamy, eager to welcome his lady home
from the Lunch Diner and she will arrive home crazy
to scent her husband's lip with a taste of wild Pacific sea.
