Transcendence Poem by Frank DeFulgentis

Transcendence

sometimes it only
takes a word
to undo
but every day is new
everywhere
i look

yesterday is far behind
a kind
of constant
indifferent mind
the sorrow
of every seed
the unchanging speed
what's that you say?

you tried
to contain me
but i don't live
in your
past
i take what i want

peace is
the practice
of imperfection
non-stop interjection
hold the light
in the palm of your hands
