Transitive Thought Poem by Darrell R. Barber

Transitive Thought

While walking beside the Ocean one night,
The meditation so wild, it gave me fright
As I stood and gazed at the stars around
I felt my soul become unbound.

The Universe spoke with a voice so sweet
The ocean calmed, the thought was bleak
What is man and the purpose of life
Why all the wars, the hunger and strife.

I could not answer the question it spoke
My mind was empty, my soul was broke
The frightful thought that was so wild
Gnawed at my heart and gave me rile.

The thought so bleak that shouted out
Broke the calm that was about
I rambled out these words with glee
The answer lies somewhere in THEE.
