Transmigration Of The Soul Poem by Romella Kitchens

Transmigration Of The Soul

The elements shifted as if spiritual wind and I dreamed
I was a white bird.
Time became dreaming.
Dreaming became time and I was: a White Bird.
I touched down on a sandy shore.
The beach water shifted with waves.
On the rocks near where I stood everyone I knew
was there and they knew me as well...
We were all: white birds.
We had wide wings.
We had wide souls.
The things done to us in living were still there but
forgiven.
We knew no cold.
We felt no hunger.
We wept no tears.
We knew joy and rejoicing.
We were so calm in our souls we took flight
as a meditation.
We rose in flight together with no predators to pursue us.
Peace, rain down on me.
Peace rain down on the poor in
body, spirit or soul.
The ocean was clean.
The water perfection blue.
Pain gave itself away.
Pain went running like a demon away.
I dreamed the earth stopped its fearful
trembling and that mountains were small
things suddenly, instead of yet another
factor that blocked out the sun.
I dreamed just for a restful while,
we were all: White Birds.
