Transmute Poem by Clifford L Deelstra

Transmute

When you feel that first
cool chill…
…and the first leaf falls,
reminding you of endings.
You helplessly fall…

…down…
…a very dark hole,
not comprehending
why there's endings at all.
___________________________
When the first bulb pokes
through,
to smell the spring air…
…as if the tulip knew…
your spirit was starting
to wear.
