Tree Of Life Poem by George Samuel

Tree Of Life

Tree, if thou be mine,
If thou are made for wine,
Intoxicated and Shredded of leaves,
Fallen off, if thou would live,
Again, that this dream be..

When your freshness was gone,
A male child, sat beside thee undone,
Left over from war, you know my tree,
That thou can live many years for free,
If thou endure the sun and accept the rain..

You're found in this concrete wall!
And have waited for the approaching fall,
Sad to know it has passed while you sleep,
But if thou be my tree, remain rooted and deep..

Keep hold of fertile soil,
Thy leaves and fruits, men shall boil,
Let them eat of thee and live!
If thou are mine, tree of life,
Shall bear those fruits of faith..
