Trial & Error Poem by Royal Princess

I tried to love another but it didn't work
I'm back to square 1, am I a quirk?
I'm down but not out what can I say
It too shall pass and I'll go through today

I've got beautiful kids as you can see and there
are many people who'd like to be like me
If they only knew what I've been through
Some will have second thoughts before saying 'I do'

I'm young and I know I'm not 23
But some day you just wait and see
Someday 23 will run to someone younger than you
and who knows you will lie, sigh, cry and you'll think
you must have been crazy or somehow things were pretty hazy

At first you felt adored, worshipped, loved
But tell me now, do you feel discarded, neglected, rejected?
