Trigger Poem by Ricky Durkin

Trigger

staring down his enemy
looking down the barrel
the click of a trigger
a flash from the rifle
the image of his wife and kids
waiting for his return
a tear rolls from his eye
his heart still pounding
as he turns to walk away
