Trip - Poem by Daniel Pavlish

Cafe Jones
Young man of seventeen
High school hippie
Long shorts
T-shirt with peace symbol
Peace symbols dangling from earlobes
Earlobes made of tin
A Komodo Dragon
Is it real?
Is it fake?
It doesn't blink
It doesn't squirm
The Nineties are the Sixties upside
Do we even know it?
Kathryn and Sarah

I dream of pouring rain
