True, If Only Poem by Justin Evett

True, If Only

Three simple words were lost in the end,
thrown around between the two
yet no feeling or emotion present.
It's not as it may appear,
staying together for the public appearance,
both wanting to truly mean whats been said.
What keeps it from being true?
It seemed so real in the beginning,
two lovers fighting to the end
for three simple words.
She's gorgeous,
perfect in every single way,
personalities matched for a endless relation.
Why can't I say three simple words,
an have it be true?
