True Love Revealed Poem by Michael P. Johnson

Who knows The Father’s only Son?
The Light of earth and sky
That through His blood the victory won
Brings endless life on high

If Jesus lived ere time began
Before man came to be
He must have known of Heaven’s plan
And all about The Tree

He must have known man’s heart and mind
Full hate, deceit and lies
Such waywardness to make him blind
Until the time he dies

He must have known that man would fail
Would die and feed the grave
That all would end in Satan’s jail
If no one were to save

What sort of love does Christ Possess?
What yet remains unknown?
What woman’s child could even guess?
The power on Heaven’s throne

Christ lived and yet was never born
Chose suffering and pain
That man could witness true love’s dawn
And live through birth again

Who can explain such things as these?
Who can deny there source
Who can refrain to bend their knees?
Now love has run it’s course

Such love as Jesus has revealed
So selfless simple and true
What magnificent fruitful yield
Will eternity pursue?
