True Love Wins Out Poem by Mary Champion

True Love Wins Out

The old flame of their romance had burned low.
Prince Charming had misplaced his sweet allure.
Their love had faded many years ago -
for fairy tales deceive the immature.

Her feet were shod in sparkling crystal glass -
'Well, that's my something old! ' - she said and smiled,
the orange-blossom wreath a touch of class,
the spray of flowers - like her passions - wild!

She danced along the hallway through the door
to where the pumpkin carriage used to wait,
where now an Uber had drawn up before
the less than pristine, peeling garden gate.

But Cinderella's heart was filled with joy -
her wedding day proclaimed a brand-new start.
She'd found a love that nothing could destroy,
when ever-faithful Buttons won her heart.
