True Man Poem by Josephine Chifundo Likoya

True Man

On a smooth surface
He clings on to me
Sharing nice stories
Smiling and laughing together
Never letting me go

On a bumpy surface
I expect him to comfort
and show me way to go
On the contrary, he says:
"I will give you some time alone
Let me know after you pass through this"

A true man clings on to his girl
when she is sad
And laughs with her
in times of happiness
