True Service Poem by GIRLIE FARIOLA

True Service

TRUE SERVICE

The path may seem dark and blurry
The wheel of time moves sluggishly
Strength drained; spirit empty
That's how you feel today.

Look yonder what the eyes could see
A flicker of light impending your way
For the service of humanity
Man, continue striding your way.

Victory may not come so easy
Sleepless nights, days so weary
Tired and unrewarded, you may be
In this journey, God may be your company.

Do not let malicious trials defeat you
Nor endless battles weaken you
A warrior spirit resides in you
Faith, courage and hope define you.

When doubts creep in
And joy visits no more often
Reminisce the oath you took
In the name of service, you promised
Duty first, before anything else.

If ever you need ears to listen
Senseless stories they may seem
I shall be with you for infinity
And pray for you incessantly.
