True Winning Poem by L. T. Padgett

True Winning

The world is full of losers and winners
Some are seasoned pros while others just beginners
What makes a loser or winner in the thought of ones mind
Is there even such a paradox or are we just blind
Winning is often associated with monetary gain
But when you win like this does it really kill the pain
Losers on the other hand seem down and out
But some can be quite cheerful how did this come about
A wealthy man miserable and a poor man content
The first can buy anything the second lucky to pay the rent
Maybe it is not the material we hold in our hand
Maybe it's more practical a much simpler plan
By looking deeper into ones heart and soul
With some adjusting and fine tuning a person can be made whole
So lets stop to smell the roses as the saying goes
Both losers and winners can smell with their nose
We can hold this simple truth in the essence of our mind
That if we are to be true winners we will never leave a loser behind
