Trust
Such a simple word,
With so much meaning.
Thought of so lightly,
Until you are bound by it.
When you betray it,
It feels like a punch to the gut,
But to the person betrayed,
It feels like a slap across the face.
Oh, such a simple word.
You don't know its true meaning,
Its true value,
Until you've betrayed it.
Trust.
