In the savanna country
Where I live
There's a trust deficit
All trust deposit accounts
Are dry
Robbers broke in
And licked the coffers dry.
Trust is so slippery
Slippery than mucus
It's elusive for the broke
Our herdsmen and Uncle Tom once had it in plenty;
Sweet scented
Beautiful to touch
Wonderful to be envisioned
But sadly, they sold it
They sold it to bandits.
In this savannah country
People have lost patience -
The mother of all trust
They watch crestfallen
As bandits cart away their loot
Boxes upon boxes of pure refined gold
And as our herdsmen
Clap themselves silly.
