my dad said when I was young
that I should wait to fall in love
since I didn't know about it
learn the things that it's made of

fast forward to my 17th year
and a beautiful blond hair girl
soon she was the only thing
that shined brightly in my world

so I won't repeat his advice
I have different words for you
something it took awhile to learn
you will find it's always true:

the sun will rise tomorrow
and the breeze will always blow
when you fall in love for real son
trust your heart to let you know

you will find that special one
treat her good & hold her tight
if you don't win the first time
keep the future in your sight

make sure your heart stays open
let love be your guiding light
rest easy in peaceful slumber
as it's time you say goodnight...
