If you hear it don't repeat it.
There was a girl who couldn't beat it.
Too much noise inside her chest,
never silence, never rest.
They told her, "Child, just let it go,
don't feed the things you shouldn't know."
But late at night, when lights were thin,
she felt it moving under skin.
A quiet voice, so soft, so near,
the kind you almost want to hear.
Hush now, don't you speak -
something's listening underneath.
There was a girl who thought too much,
who felt too deep, who craved a touch.
They told her softly, "Don't go there,
there's something waiting in your stare."
She tried to stop, she tried to sleep,
but thoughts don't drown, they only seep.
They crawl beneath, they scratch, they stay,
they learn your voice, then start to play.
Hide away, don't be seen.
safe is quiet, safe is clean.
Think a little, feel a lot
that's the place where you get caught.
At first it helped, it eased the pain,
it whispered, "We're not all the same."
"I understand the things you feel,
the things they say are never real."
It stayed with her when no one would,
it made the bad things feel almost good.
A little darker, day by day,
but she was tired anyway.
Think, think - sink, sink,
closer than you want to think.
Feel, feel - it will grow,
feed it once, it won't let go.
It wore her face, it spoke her name,
it told her they were both the same.
"Don't fight me, I'm the only light,
I was there inside your youth."
It pulled her strings so gently tight,
and turned her dark into the truth.
It made her pain feel warm, like home,
a place she'd never leave alone.
"You don't need them. Stay with me.
I'll keep you safe. I'll set you free."
But freedom felt a lot like chains,
wrapped in comfort, lined with pain.
Hide now - don't be seen.
It lives somewhere in between
She ran away, but where to go?
It knew each path she used to know.
In every mirror, every sound,
it waited quietly, unbound.
She shut her eyes - it stayed inside.
She screamed for help - it only smiled.
"You can't escape, you can't undo,
I'm every broken part of you."
You made me, it said, calm and slow,
every thought you wouldn't let go.
She tried to run - it didn't chase.
It only stood there in her place.
Hide, hide - stay inside,
let the dark become your guide.
Run, run - nowhere to go,
it's the thing you'll always know.
It fed on every fragile thought,
on every battle she had fought.
It drank her fear, it wore her skin,
and slowly pulled her deeper in.
"Just stop, " they said, "just don't feel pain, "
but silence only fed the chain.
The less she spoke, the more it grew,
until she didn't know what's true no more.
Don't think. Don't feel. Don't try to heal.
Now if you listen late at night,
between the dark and broken light,
you'll hear a voice that sounds like you
soft and low and almost true like from the start it always knew.
Think, think - sink, sink
feel too much and you won't blink.
Hide, hide - stay inside.
it's already by your side.
