Tsunami Poem by Merrin Abraham

Tsunami

Voice of waves echoes in my ears
As if it happened yesterday.
Still I remember the agony and pain,
That haunts all human beings
Land was beautiful blessed with god’s grace.
Is the god’s love vanished?
Disaster struck the land,
Waves came like a roaring lion,
Swallowed everything like a fire
Licked away the dreams and hopes
Bliss and happiness turned into misery and sorrows.
Sound of cries echoed all around
They looked for beloved ones
Meandered like ghosts in scary nights!
They lost everything except sorrows
Is it the wrath of god?
Dispersing loved ones apart.
I bow my head, with tears in my eyes
Prayers in my heart
I showered these roses into the sea
For those who were lost in Tsunami fathoms away.
