Turn It On Poem by Stephen Carey

Turn It On

Those very simple words
'I love you'
Are not as simple as
'I miss you'

Turn the radio on,
And know the words of every song.
Feel like they're yours,
You've known them all along.
Listen to them,
Listen to the sad songs.
Let them remind you
Of all the wrongs.

Turn the radio off,
And listen to the wind.
Try to find the words inside,
The sound has never sinned.
Close the window,
And listen to the silence.
Try to find the words inside,
Until it doesn't make sense.

Turn the light off,
'Cause you can't take the light.
Or turn it on,
Because you have the right.
