Twenty Years Memories Poem by Alexander Foald

Twenty Years Memories

It came over me in a rush, faster than my eyes
Struck my head indirectly, throbbing my heart like a dash
It felt so hard I couldn’t breathe, but it was also terrifying
Making me truly realize what’s been lost from inside of me

It was the very first time I saw you in the classroom
It was the very first time I felt love was about to bloom
While others cluttered the room with sounds and noises,
You filled my heart with flowers and lots of fruits

I wanted to tell you, though; I just couldn’t say a thing
Every word I tried to let out only ended up shortcoming
It was a peaceful time for me just by the way we were
‘Cause I thought it would be best if you never know me before

Now twenty years has passed, we never seen each other again
I don’t know where you are, but I’m certain that you’re okay
Even if these bones crack and we become weary,
Memories of you will stay untouched, like it was just yesterday
