Twice Loved Poem by Esther McCallister

Twice Loved

Rating: 3.0

A lovely child, full of grace and beauty thru and thru
Her mother's precious labor; her father's favored gift.
A radiant smile her face adorned.
Luxurious laughter from her soul came forth.
All throughout such mesmerizing beauty.
Then one day love her heart did steal.
Soft warm words throughout her soul with silken threads did weave.
Pleasure did her heart surround.
Transfixed by love's piercing rays. There her soul became fast bound. Love's conquering gaze attends to impoverished fantasies and withering delights.
Vanquished Soul fast frozen there.
Impaled beneath love's merciless
rage.
Love's fragile heart in silent misery beats.
Soul cast down, left sore,
Her wasted heart implores to death that long awaited score.
Her body spent upon the heights of poisoned love
Pinning there for her ethereal home. Pressed down forever- there
amongst the thorns.
