Twilight Icarus Poem by Michael Sortino

Twilight Icarus

An illuminated light
almost an illusion,
as I take my flight
in blinding delusion.

Dust left behind
scattered on my final perch,
the light is supposed to be kind
so why must it burn me in flight?
