I loved
but it failed
It chopped me in lumps and
waned the strength through my knees
We were too young
I guess
It caused her a distraught
though it was something
that was almost
But never quite was
What if it was us?
She dreaded love,
and she blew it all up
I fought
stiffer each time
She didn’t try harder,
and I took it too far
Now, she’s gone-
in her self-made lair

I loved again
but it failed another time
It crushed me to bits and
dropped me down my knees
I lost the courage
to bring it out into the open
My heart is all for her
but couldn’t get it off my chest
It was hard to bid goodbye
to someone I never had
Tears fell for her
though she was never mine
Now, she’s gone- somewhere,
far and wide,
where I couldn’t find her

I gave it up another chance
I loved once more
but it failed yet again
It ground me to pieces and
cut me off my knees
Did I get her all wrong?
or she just seemed so right
Was I busy
chasing the tails of love?
or was I too upright?
All I knew
I didn’t pretend to be
anything more than she is，
and I’ve never loved anyone
as much as I’ve loved her
She’s gone-
in someone else’s arms

I want to get even
I want to take revenge
But part of me
tows me back
to hold off
to lock up
to keep things under wrap
In the long run
Squaring an account
won’t give me an edge
And if this is the cost to pay,
I believe I earned,
and never was short-changed

In the big race
I’m still way ahead
For in the end,
I met love
touched love
kissed love
loved love
I’ve learned to love
the hardest way though
To know
when love is worth to follow
To hold on
when things whirl up-side-down
To trust
when things start to fall apart
To believe
that love keeps the world go round

Now, I am raring
to go for love;
Yes,
I, really, am
ready…
to love again.
