Twisted Darkness Poem by Taz Dee

Twisted Darkness

here come those black clouds again
with the rain that falls from your eyes
flooded with thoughts from which you should abstain
so it time to find your faithful mask

so that no one will ever know
that you watch the red run from you
the fears and sadness that you sow
only serve to make the cut deeper

all of these thoughts, twisted and tangle
weaving in and out
all part of your twisted tree that angle
a spear to your heart

and oh the pain, the heavy chest
you struggle to breathe to get through the day
you try in every way to give your best
and still it's never enough

and inside the emptiness is consuming
the hollow that was your heart
it begins moving, zooming
coursing through every vein

you try to bleed it out
this virus, this disease
trying desperately to reroute
it away from you

but this battle cannot be won
no matter how hard you try
and all the pain cannot be undone
no matter how deep you cut
