When Kennedy quite wislely over rode his generals
Khruschev rushed to say we had a deal
Another wisdom was upheld: 'Make sure they see you coming.'
Two great cultures and a world were spared annihilation
In a drama that has no room for bravado
Leaders almost always set the tone from which so much proceeds.
