Two Eyes Watching Me With Tears Poem by Tulsi Shrestha

Two Eyes Watching Me With Tears

Two Eyes Watching Me With Tears
I shouted aloud with joy
Come down oh my darling!
What I have bought for you
As a birthday gift for you.
She rushed down within a moment
Got surprised for a while as she noticed,
An expensive car for her in Courtyard.
She skipped her heart beats for a while
Rushed towards me and planted passionate kiss.
As I hold her tight in my grip, suddenly I noticed...
Two eyes watching me with tears; from window.
She is no other than old aged my own Mom.
Reminiscence of event, just a few days before
Reflected in screen of my memory storage.
Mom waiting late in empty dinning table
Expecting me to come quickly in evening
With birthday cake to celebrate her birthday.
Me so busy, came back home so late.
Without any gift and birthday cake for her.
I clarified her, celebration with such cake
Not tradition of ours, it's so expensive to afford.
She replied with usual voice hiding her feelings..
'Don't worry my son, it's okay, your wife has gone to sleep.
I am waiting to serve you dinner, you might be hungry '
I was awakened from flashbacks of memories.
My eyes filled with tears of repentance
So many sleepless night that she had spent
For a minor fever that I suffered in childhood.
Working eighteen hours a day
for my future to display.
What is real criteria to judge True Love
When love accompanied by Ecstasy of Lust
Gets victory over Eternity of Mother's Love.
Me Not alone in this selfish world..
Most of us suffer from such tendency at all.
