Two Goth Girls. Poem by Steven Harris

Two Goth Girls.

Standing in the dark of the club
the lights hitting my face
heavy metal music plays over the speakers
and all the hair on the dance floor flying all around
two girls hover over my shoulder and ramble into my ear
i can't hear a word they said
i shout over and ask what they said
they scream louder into my ear
drunk talk is all i can hear
no idea what these girls just said
but my first thought is they are very attractive goths
all clocked up in black shorts and chains
dark makeup across their eyes
black lipstick across their lips
pretty goth girls.

They leave the room and i follow
walking up behind them up the staires
almost falling down them
almost dropping my drink
followed by two of my friends also almost dropping their drinks
the girls stand at the top and i stop
i ask them what they say
they tell me with a smile that they like my shoes and they walk away
i stand at the top of the stairs in shock
as i watch my friends go by
for the rest of the night i cant stop thinking
those two goth girls only like my shoes.
