Two Hearts As One Poem by Noah Body

Two Hearts As One

Ensconced on high Where once we glided
Enmeshed in leafy green branches we abided

Two hearts made one soared way up high
Never a need to question or wonder why

Forever and a day inseparably wedded
Roots and branches together threaded

Both hearts in tandem rhythm beating
Our eternity in the end was fleeting

The day you went on to final reward
Was the last that my heart ever soared

Leafy boughs gave way to gnarled knots
Hot tears corrode in darkened spots

And way up high upon that silent swing
My heart is left forever a lonely thing
