Two Paths Poem by Charlie Bain

Two Paths

A walk in the forest
Two paths ahead
Should I take the familiar
Or the new one instead?

To the left I am comfortable
I know where it will take me
I've walked this path for years
I know my boundaries

To the right is an adventure
Something intriguing and new
It looks to be more fun
But where will it lead me to?

The left path is a wide one
Strong and well traveled on
This path takes me to security
Though it's a boring one

The right path is very narrow
I can barely see it for the vines
But it calls to me with excitement
Not within the boring lines

Which path is the one for me
Which joy should I choose
What do I have to gain
What do I have to lose?
