U.B.U Poem by amanda barr

U.B.U

You be you,
and I'll be me,
that's the way its supposed to be.
We're all in this together,
thats the way its supposed to be.
We should be working together.

In a room full of circles and squares
I sit and wonder
Does anybody dare to be different?
I think if I were you and you were me
You'd see that we're the same.
It's all a game ain't nothing changed.
We're the same in the sense
that we need to be Loved.

Love starts when you respect yourself
so tell me what you see,
when you see you.

There's a man on the corner
of nowhere and fifth.
I wonder how he ended up like this
without a dime to his name,
It's a shame.
Um, um, um
He took a chance uith the wrong friends
got caught up to no Good in a neighbor hood
where it's hard to survive, staying alive.

Is a full time job
living longer than the next guy or girl
Little girl with hopes and big dreams
don't get swayed by those sex friends
I understand that you want a man.
But a real man will help you stand..
