U love yo freedom
u’ve built
the wall
around it
like ancient kingdom
this wall
is full
of pigeons holes
my hole
is far
along the wall
it’s far too small..
u warm
my head
by warmth
of breath
u-tube yo lips
around my beak
u hold my heart
inside my breast
in yo so soft
but iron fist
and then
u throw me
up the air -
into the sun
into the mist
into the cloud
into the lightning
exciting, thrilling
silent loud
and very-very-very
frightening
but
can’t u see:
i’ve reached
the thunder
above
the middle
of the sea
i’m falling down
i’m going under
cannot u see?
my wings
too small
how can they grow
in pigeon hole
on that churchyard
of freedom wall
cannot you see? !
o, u can see..
through all them clouds
through all this rein
through all my pain
through all yo snow
