(un) Dying Love Poem by Jean-luc Le Maistre

(un) Dying Love

Nights at Hilary's, your hands like an icicle
But your hands in mine, they were ignitable

Looking back now, we're watching Harry Potter
Constantly reminding you, to drink more water

You're so special Tiki, I see you deep inside
Gifting you your water bottle, in my chest you cried

Sharing your little bubble, watching you make a doll
Admiring you over shoulder, your certified cornball

Sitting at your glass table, your cigarettes charred
You kept your heart close, like a hand of cards

You're still searching for yourself, but I'm still here
Holding on tightly, to what I hold dear

Bruised & beaten, deep pains I feel
Who knew a love could be so real

Like the rose I gave you, forever wilting
Didn't know I could feel, so much of everything

But it wasn't your fault, that I fell like lead
The best memories of us, cuddling in your bed

In my room alone, the feelings come on
Reminiscing about that time, Eli was playing Pokemon

It's so sweet, how you love me unconditionally
You're my bitter sweet symphony

Overwhelming feelings, my heart overgrew
Don't know where I'd be, without finding you

If I'd choose to do it again, would I be strange?
Everything about you, there is nothing I would change

Surviving it all, knowing you love me too
Life without you, something impossible to do
But I would gladly break it, I'd break my heart for you
