Unapologetic Poem by Tessa Eichhorst

Unapologetic

There comes a time when you make a
change-good or bad-it should benefit
your ways. People you think would see
you through anything start to stray
and the things that come next push you
further away.

You decide this is for the best and you
continue to walk away no longer apologizing
for the things you chose to do or say.

Sometimes all you wanted from the other
person in the beginning was an apology.
For they way you were treated, the way
you felt, and the things that were said.
When all you continue to get are arguments,
you do selfish things to clear your head.

Not everyone who comes into your life
needs to stay. Some people are here
for now and one day their colors are
shown to your face.

Eventually all that are left are sweet
memories and things you can't change.
Finally, revealing the truth and no
longer hiding your face. Sometimes
unfortunate things happen that show
you the way and you realize by the time
you get an apology it's too late.
