Uncertainty Poem by Mary Rodriguez

Uncertainty

Night is when I feel most alone
Worrying about a future to continue doing all I've ever known
Awake until the early mornings dawn
The direction of my life now seems gone
Some things shake us to our very core
Making us fear and doubt things, we never did before
My world is turning upside down
Is this the path my life has been drawn?
Nervous and shaking my confidence once strong, now caves
As I close my eyes, I feel things fading away
Hard to breathe, buried in a sadness
What once was blue skies, now covered in darkness
Feels like a battle that can't be won
My choices are stand my ground or run
I've come too far to give up now
People have no idea your struggles as you walk in a crowd
Gathering inner strength I'll not lose heart
Even when it feels my universe is quickly falling apart
Slowly the clouds are moving and the sun begins to shine
Love ones reassurances that all will be fine
I'll continue to count the blessings God has given to me
Only then can my uncertainties finally be set free
