Uncertainty Principle Poem by Mary Champion

Uncertainty Principle

Have you ever heard of anything cuter?
Seems Google has built its first quantum computer.
Each bit is off, on, neither or both
all at the same time and so I am loath
to try to pretend that I might comprehend
the way that it works, with this chaotic blend
of logic and science and theory too.
It's magic to me so I haven't a clue.
They said it performed, in a couple of shakes,
a sum that a normal computer would take
10,000 years to work out and print;
and a human would take sev'ral million I think.
So can they be sure that the answer is right?
Could it make a mistake? Is it really that bright?

But wait, Quantum Theory defends the machine
for uncertainty says that it all has to mean
the answer was right or wrong I suppose
or both states at once. So nobody knows.
