Unclock'dschool Poem by Ramesh Iyengar

Unclock'dschool

Unclock'dSchool
Unclock'd, unalarum'ddothwe work
To attend dutywithnoshirk
Howoftitdothirk
Tolook forawatchorclock?
A hickory-dickorydock
Isamuchbetter clock.
Alas, haveI none here.
The sun tells hour after hour.
The dusk tells the school ended
Or the moon in west ascended.
Timeless, in a little campus tooodd
Queer as eachdayhereI trod.
Do I have fun in huge measure
This too detached school is but a treaaure.
