Under Siege Poem by ARSHAJ GAIKWAD

Under Siege

It’s me sitting lonely on a springy day,
When all my friends are out to play
And slowly and steadily a great dawn,
The sun pours upon a healthy lawn.

When once I thought those days were gone,
I padded myself against the wall,
A wall so high I had never seen,
My life this is, it ain’t a dream.

There was a day when I jumped on this way,
I thought it all to be a child’s play.
And now I am, as deep as I can be,
Something unknown is pulling me.

Up against the wall, I stand up today,
Alone again, I try to find a way.
For the scent of now seems out of reach,
I recon, I know, I am under siege.

Still gathering my courage, I set my eyes dry,
Wielding a sword of fire, I set my aims high,
Like fires from HEAVEN, my soul burns bright,
I assure myself a victory this night.

Till my courage stays, as long as I survive,
I will fight this war in this very style,
Till this wall is down & without any aid,
With the sun shining, once more,
On my fiery blade…! ! !
