Underture Poem by April Lane

Underture

Two free tickets to a show
One for you and one for me!
A viola concerto

Two seats in the balcony
Arms entwined and side by side
Come and see the symphony!

I went Sunday, I confide
But with you I would again
Sounds so sweet I almost cried

Since we parted I remain
Fragile and disconsolate
But let's dwell not on the pain

Never mind that you are late
I will leave it on your bier
Underneath the new bouquet

So come claim your ticket, dear
And when it is time to go
I'll be dressed and waiting here
