O callous Covid!
why do you terrify me
and draw a circle round
to shut me in?
for me,
waiting has become worth disgusting
and from such sickness now I'm suffering
even for no crime I'm chained
and thrown into a makeshift dungeon
i'm much pained
when I'm prevented from
basking in the morning sun
or, sleeping in the lap of the moon in the terrain
or, gathering happiness from the fresh drops of rain
or, stepping into the conference for an opinion
but, you can't deter me fromrunning into the kitchen
and wiping the sweat from the brows of my queen
or locking her in my arm to whisper
that love like a spark still glows in this pent-up heart
and hops like an obstinate brat
where her smooches lead me to a wonder land
and my cuddles help it grow and stand
you can't stop me fromgoing down my age to play
hide and seek with my scion,
or to him teaching life's lesson
or, listening to the musings that my soul sings.
