Unearthed Heart Poem by Lawrence Maze

Unearthed Heart

I embrace the universe
With my two lonely eyes,
And, as the tides go by,
I understand all the little things
Between my fingertips and God...

O lost rose, O lost dream,
Let me rise again, fly away,
Among this cold breeze
Called Love by all men...

O restrained mercy,
O eternal sleep, O future,
Let me find my beloved
Among the dark stars of Freedom...

I embrace myself,
I retain yourself,
I behold ourselves,
Trying to finally see
All the shadows we once forsook!
