Unending Love Poem by Mofemedi Arnold Mokoisa

Unending Love

I seem to have loved you in numberless forms, numberless times...
My love trespasses the gates of time — many times.
With you as a pole, and love as a rope,
Seems like I've gone past you many times,
While playing this merry-go-round.
My heart's clock knows no time — it only passes by you many times.
A seed, from a seed, of a Seed — forever in love.

Whenever I climb this Hyperion tree to peek through time,
My eyes tear seas of love — many times.
As loves of yore snatch my iris' hand,
To sail through many wonderlands;
The lily of Romeo's — grown by the roadside,
I sniff the fragrance in Juliet's eyes;
And between the love of Abraham and Sarah, a Rose of Sharon grows,
Launching my heart as a sunrise — a day to never wither.

Within the ballroom of time — hosted by the Founder of Love,
We dance among millions of lovers, we sing the same song:
"A gain of love and the loss of time pierces my heart when you pass by."
You and I — water lilies from a stream, we float so beautifully.
Love letters, sweet poems; cute smiles, shy eyes —
Our bloomed love knows no nights, since the sun is charmed by us.

Today, inside your heart, I bury my heart.
It has found its end — in you.
The fragrance of non-identical worlds of love, in many forms,
Merges with this one love of ours — through many doors.
Creating a glamorous sight, designed by joy and sorrow,
To breathe songs, beautify poems,
And seed love — forevermore.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This poem, Unending Love, is a continuation of Rabindranath Tagore's original Unending Love poem, expressed from my perspective and shaped by my personal experiences with love. I was deeply inspired and captivated by Tagore's vision of unending love. I have always wanted to reinterpret it to reflect my own feelings and to dedicate it to the person who is dear to me, without losing its heartbeat.
