Unexpected Event Poem by Alon Calinao Dy

Unexpected Event

When I was a child,3 years old exactly
My mother always told me,
' Baby, embrace your mommy.'
Then I knew that day,
My mother really loved me.

When I was a grade school student,
I had a crush to my playmate.
She shared her milk to me
And kissed me by accident.
O how lucky I felt!

When I became a teenager
And I was looking for her,
I felt bad she'd passed away.
She was hit by a truck!
I knew she was not my luck.

Now I am happy with my life,
I have a loving and sweet wife.
I couldn't ask for more to God
But wait to grow old.
