Unhinged Innocence Poem by Roger Snow

Unhinged Innocence

sometimes I can barely see
at other times,
it's a Matter of not wanting
to be a part of anything

and for right now,
I'd like to settle in
maybe have a scotch and Gin
swing awhile on this old porch swing
with You, ,
the lady of my dreams, ,

and at times, , ,
I just want to walk along this stream
where peace is in every sunlit beam, , ,

I can't say what Tomorrow may bring
but today's the first day of Spring
and it's a Lovers Moon
Hanging low over me, ,
and alone
It ain't a feeling
that's too comforting, , ,

But I'll be alright, ,
hell this ain't the loneliest night, ,
I've ever lived, ,
but just the same, , , , ,

it'd be nice if you'd come back to me, , , ,
is it something really all that hard to do, ,

just don't let my faults rule over you
let them slide back into their hole, , ,

and come Back Home, , ,

There's a Piece of me inside of you
and that I know you haven't lost
you as well know that true
if we lose us, ,
I don't want to face that Cost

so come back Home

Take me easy,
I know I have my flaws, , ,

Can't we get past our damage and just let be, , ,

It may not have been as bad as you think you saw
I know it wasn't, ,
can you please just try
and have Faith in me, , ,

and come back Home, , ,
Oh won't you please, ,

I guess I can Take a walk,
try to find you, try to talk, ,
try anything besides
lay here with an aching heart, , ,

I asked your sister
if you're ok the other day, ,
she replied what do you think, after you went out
and had your play, , ,
that's not true at all, ,
I wasn't untrue to you, , ,
no matter what people thought they saw, ,

Oh, just come home to me, , ,
